TMV spoke to the vice-president of Getty Images, a billion-dollar-a-year image-licensing company. As well as providing images for the editorial world (news, sports, entertainment, etc) and the creative world (billboards, album-covers, newspaper adverts, etc), they are also the largest licenser of film footage, whatever the environment or setting may be, often used in TV shows and movies, ‘Sex in the City’ being a prime example. However, they are now licensing music and photos, and are looking to build on their outlets. As well as touching upon all these matters, he also chats about music subscription models, advertising over creativity, digital music, and new platforms to be looking out for in the future.
