EVENT REPORT: Unconvention – Music & Pies (Macclesfield)
On 8th May, Hagop Tchaparian attended Un-Convention Factory, an artist-focused music industry event. The aim was to create, record and distribute a new record during only one day, whilst also exploring current industry challenges and sharing and debating ideas.
In this video Hagop gives us an overview of the event (including the free Converse), talks to Arjun from Indiesicion.com in India and Vijay Nair from OML.In in Mumbai and shares some words of wisdom from Andrew Dubber, who hosted many of the talks.
Hagop Tchaparian has been involved in the music industry since signing his first record deal in 1996. Since then he has toured the world, opening for the likes of Metallica, Foo Fighters, No Doubt and Red Hot Chilli Peppers before crowds of 80,000 people. Alongside this, Hagop also spent a lot of time helping acts such as Hot Chip to achieve global success.
Nowadays, Hagop’s time is spent doing consultancy work and sharing his pearls of wisdom with musicians, songwriters and artists worldwide through his 12 week video training – ‘Niche Music System’. You can check out Hagop’s blog getyourstage here.

Great to meet you too.
Great quotes!
Good stuff. Thanks!
Hagop – thanks for making my banal comments sound mildly informed and useful. A triumph of editing.
Dubber was a genuinely fascinating guy – what’s brilliant about those quotes you chose was that every single one of them was him quoting someone else!
By quoting him quoting someone else, am I now post-modern, or just an idiot? I think the latter.
Really great to meet you finally, Hagop. What’s brilliant about those quotes you chose of mine from that workshop… was that every single one of them was me quoting someone else!
Nothing’s really original, is it?
Cheers!
