Department Description: The department provides financial reporting, accounting, planning, budgeting, and financial compliance and auditing for the company.

High Level Job Description: Position will partner with the business unit Chief Financial Officer and their Finance team to assist with a broad range of Finance activities.

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:
Work closely with CFO and Finance staff to execute the functions listed below. Overall supervision of Finance department staff (currently 3) including review of their areas, training, etc.
Overall annual Budget preparation and quarterly forecasts (P&L, balance sheet & supporting schedules)- including reviewing key areas prepared by each staff and preparing P&L roll up and reviewing against comparable periods.
Quarterly and monthly closes – involves coordination with various shared service groups, review of staffs areas and overall compilation and review of P&L, balance sheet and supporting schedules. Complete understanding of the current accounting requirements for the completion of internal financial statements.
Weekly quarter P&L flashes and regular frequent updating of key areas of P&L (sales, new business, marketing, A&R, overhead, participation deals). This entails review of the key areas updated by staff, identification of significant variances, potential issues/ trends, and rolling up to a flash P&L for senior management and corporate reporting.
Project and artist profitability analyses – includes a)preparation of deal models for specific deals; b) quarterly profitability analysis by project (both prospective as well as actual results) and c) understanding existing joint venture and participation agreements and reviewing related statements prepared by shared accounting group.
Key involvement in maintaining sufficient control environment at Company – including SOX compliance, approvals over purchases and payments, accounts payable interaction, maintain control/approval matrix.
Interaction with key departments to provide financial assistance/information, troubleshooting, process improvement, efficiencies, cost savings.

Interaction with Corporate office in NY involving quarterly review calls of financial statements, weekly flashes, forecast reviews, significant involvement in system integrations.

Required Competencies/Skills:
Strong accounting and finance background with a minimum of seven years of experience. Strong analytical skills, very proficient in systems and excel. The right person for this position must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail. The position also requires someone who is highly organized with a strong ability to multi-task, a self-starter, but someone who takes direction, works well with change and is a team player.
