VP Engineering Senior Technologist Tech Lead – Shindig (NY)
Job Description
Seasoned successful entrepreneur seeks hands-on tech lead to take over the effort behind the company’s breakthrough new video chat technology. Must be highly adaptive, creative, and inspired by the challenge of building the next generation of web interaction. The candidate should have experience managing in an Agile development environment and be comfortable with dedicating the time needed to jump-start this endeavor, optimizing a large existing code base and building a technology team that can iterate upon it rapidly. While you will be relied on as a key technical voice within management you must also be prepared to do some heavy lifting yourself.
Desired Skills & Experience
Our current products employ solutions developed in Java, Flex and PHP. Background in video chat applications highly advantageous. Strong familiarity with both HTML 5 and Flash/Flex important. Prior management of scaled enterprises both consumer facing and SAAS important. Our existing team is both NYC-based and offshore, so experience in managing far flung development is also a plus. Familiarity in various verticals from distance learning to gaming, to dating, to virtual goods all relevant.

With our technology we are creating revolutionary new types of web experiences revolving around online events, gaming, social networks, distance learning, and other meaningful online activities. Company’s technology is transformative and promises a new mode of online engagement.
Our company founder and CEO, Steve Gottlieb, is a serial entrepreneur and longtime angel tech investor. His past career highlights include founding and running TVT Records, one of the largest independent music companies in the US, with 30 Gold, Platinum, and Multi-platinum releases to its credit. Steve’s productions included the Television’s Greatest Hits Series; his artistic discoveries included Nine Inch Nails, Pitbull, Lil Jon, Ja Rule, Sevendust, KLF, Underworld, and Brian Jonestown Massacre among others. He served on the board of MusicMatch, the advisory board of Napster and acted as angel investor at several other tech ventures.
Shindig is funded by the Vlock Pritzker family office whose interests include a broad portfolio of private and public equities, real estate, biotech, medical and industrial equipment, venture capital funds and substantial holdings in Marmon Group and Global Hyatt Corporation.
