VP Creative – CMT MTV Networks – Nashville, TN
Job Description
CMT seeks a seasoned professional who can lead and inspire a team of creative professionals, drive viewership to our channel and has a strong business sensibility to be our next Vice President, Creative Services. This individual will direct the efforts of CMT’s Creative Staff in the creation, planning, development, production of all on and off air promotion and graphics for CMT. Specifically, they will manage the creation, development, writing and production of all on-air promotional materials, off-air promotion, graphic animation and design, including tune-in promotion campaigns, network image campaigns, music production, voice-over, on camera talent, presentation tapes, radio promotion, etc. They will establish objectives and oversee implementation of processes to achieve company goals. Will successfully marry design with brand principles, creative thinking and business strategy. In addition, they will develop and manage the departmental budget and compliance issues. Position reports directly to the SVP Brand Marketing & Creative. In conjunction with the SVP, this position will establish long-range brand goals and business plans.
Desired Skills & Experience
Essential Job Requirements Include but are not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Television/Radio Production, Marketing or related field, required.
Minimum of 7-10 years management experience in promotion, marketing or related field required, with a minimum of 5 years experience supervising others.
Must have strong writing skills with background in writing for television and/or marketing.
Extensive knowledge of branding required.
Excellent ability to lead, motivate, and guide a creative writing team to achieve network promotional objectives both on and off network.
Requires the ability to follow through and complete multiple projects within specific time frames and to within established budgetary guidelines.
Must be able to recognize talent, select and manage creative personnel effectively.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate ideas concisely
Thorough knowledge of television promotion, strong copy writing skills, and excellent design skills are required.
Knowledge of branding, marketing and research are appreciated.
Must be able to manage conflict effectively.
Must exhibit leadership characteristics and abilities.
Able to align team performance with the goals of the department and business.
Must be able to exude professionalism in all situations.
Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy at all times.
Prior experience managing a sizable budget required.
