Cutbacks At Sony Don’t Affect L.A. Reid
“Good Morning, Mr. Reid. Lovely day today, sir.”
I’m just back from an extended summer vacation and the first call I get is from one of my Sony sources about the spending cuts that have come down at the company. But it seems as though the cutbacks don’t seem to apply to reality TV star and part-time chairman of Epic Records L.A. Reid.
It appears that L.A.’s office at 550 needed a little sprucing up–evidently the carpet was not giving off the right vibes. So The Chairman decided to install a brand new wood floor in his office suite–to the tune of $300,000. What a deal.
Although the cuts seem to always eliminate the jobs of secretaries and clerical workers (the ones who need their jobs the most), Reid has been a saving grace to the secretarial pool. He has THREE assistants. And who knows…maybe his assistants even have assistants. He’s a very busy man.
It doesn’t stop there though. According to my source, when Reid sends out his contact info, it includes numbers for his three assistants and also his chauffeur’s phone number!
That L.A. is some class guy.
