VP Engineering, Next Big Sound Inc. – New York City
Job Description
The VP Engineering is responsible for leading teams of Next Big Sound engineers, covering the entire development lifecycle. The VP of Engineering will work closely with the CTO and the entire senior executive team to build software that drives Next Big Sound forward. The VP Engineering is responsible for the planning and execution of software development, project management, and managing people.
You are ambitious, driven, curious, passionate, and humble. Your goal is to lead the continued growth of our engineering team and build the best products possible in an environment where talented engineers love to work. You are an evangelist for continuous integration and deployment principles, and can jump in to assist if necessary to ensure completion of time sensitive releases.

Responsibilities
Own the overall planning, execution, and on-time delivery of engineering projects
Hire, train, build, manage, and mentor a team of amazing developers
Software development time estimation and communication to company and executive team
Execute projects with continuous delivery models and a no fear attitude
Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization
Requirements
Proven leader who has grown, sustained and led high performance teams from 10 to 100+ engineers with a demonstrated ability to recruit, manage, and administer performance reviews for a technical staff
8+ years of relevant work experience, including hands-on technical management
Exceptional coding skills
Deep experience in Unix/Linux
BA/BS in Computer Science (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
