You are highly strategic and commercial; the product initiatives that you drive forward are ones that are going to make a real difference to the business, not flashy sideshows.
You are highly collaborative, and used to working with teams in multiple locations and across multiple cultures. You have a demonstrable track record of success in optimizing existing products and delivering new products that deliver high customer utility, and drive significant revenue. You will develop and lead a team of product managers in Getty Images’ New York HQ, whose responsibility includes the definition, delivery, evolution, and ongoing management of Getty Images mobile applications and video products, across category-leading brands including gettyimages.com, istockphoto.com and thinkstock.com
Your Next Challenge:
The Product Management team is responsible for the creation, development and management of products across the organization. The Senior Director, Product will be responsible for defining global product strategy, developing and executing a roadmap, and leading the market in developing innovative digital solutions for our creative products business.
The Senior Director, Product will work cross functionally with Senior Leadership, Sales, Marketing and Technology, and other functions, to translate this strategy into new or enhanced products and services, as well as optimizing current products, and ensuring commercial success. The product roadmap will be validated by robust analysis, and customer feedback to meet current and future business requirements.
Manages a team of Product Managers; selects, develops and counsels employees; performs regular employee appraisals
Define and drive a cohesive product strategy across key product areas to meet current and future business needs
Analyze trends by region, customer segment, distribution channel, content source and product line to strengthen market position and identify potential opportunities. Proactively evolve plans on the basis of such market intelligence
Oversee the production of actionable reporting and analysis on a regular basis and ad hoc, as necessary, to develop business cases for product initiatives relating to both new and existing products
Work across multiple departments, including Content, Operations, Sales, Business Intelligence, Finance, Marketing and Technology to help drive overall product performance, to ensure successful execution of product initiatives, and to enhance understanding of product development needs
Lead in the definition of customer use cases, translating use cases into detailed requirements when necessary
Establish and maintain strong relationships and communications with internal departments to ensure that implementation plans meet deadlines, and proactively resolve any issues
Lead in definition of product training and other education initiatives in order to ensure that products are well understood both within the organization and outside ie customers, working with internal teams to implement as appropriate

What You’ll Need:
10+ years relevant and/or management experience in this field
Experience in digital media, content licensing and/or e-commerce platforms, with proven analyticcal and project management skills
proven track record of successful product management, including development and launch of new products, preferably including mobile and video
Experience in managing a team of product managers
Experience of working with success in a matrixed orgnization
Experience in managing and delivering multiple complex projects across functional, geographic and cultural borders
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in a fast paced creative environment. Must be flexible and comfortable in a state of change
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred; MBA a plus
